Every day this week, there’s at least one fun food event happening around Baltimore. From bread-making to wine tasting, we have a fun week ahead. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:Openings & announcementsThe Baltimore liquor board has approved a live entertainment request for the Barn &
; Lodge, a new Rotunda venue currently under construction. Whole Fish Fridays at Sally O’sDuring Lent, Sally O’s is experimenting with Friday fish dishes. Every Friday from now through Easter, the restaurant will offer a different whole fish option.
Sourdough at KneadsIf you haven’t yet hopped on the sourdough baking trend, there’s still time. On Saturday afternoon, Kneads in Harbor East is hosting a sourdough baking class that covers how to make the dough, the proofing process, and hand-scoring.The class ill close out with charcuterie and wine – and attendees will take home a bread-baking basket and scoring knife, in addition to a loaf of sourdough.BSC Bourbon launchOn Saturday at noon, Baltimore Spirits Co. will release a new BSC Bourbon at The Cocktail Gallery. Soul Smoked BBQ will also be on hand for the release party, with food that is sure to be a good match for the bourbon. National Oyster WeekNational Oyster Week is in full swing, with specials and events at a bunch of different spots around the area.At Manor Tavern, the celebration includes Sunday’s Oysterfest, an afternoon of live music, oysters served multiple ways, and fantastic food.Through March 31, Gertrude’s is donating $1 from all oyster dishes to Oyster Recovery Partnership. French wine at CostieraOn Tuesday, Costiera and Elite Wines are partnering for a multi-course dinner showcasing coastal French wines. Courses include dishes like lobster velouté with black truffle and crème fraiche, and a terrine of foie gras, rabbit and sweetbreads. Dining Out for Women at Café GiaOn Wednesday, Café Gia hosts Dining Out for Women, an evening of heart-healthy specials and raffles to raise money for the American Heart Association and awareness about women’s heart health. During the evening, 10% of sales will be donated to AHA and even if you can’t make it to the restaurant, there are ways to support the cause and enter to win prizes. Existential Bread at Le Comptoir du VinOn Thursday, Le Comptoir du Vin hosts Jim Franks, author of Existential Bread, for a conversation and multi-course meal featuring several breads from Motzi and a bread-themed cocktail by Anna K. Crooks. Yo Soy Fiesta block party at NanaOn Friday, March 28, Stoneleigh neighbors Nana, Chef Bobby D and The Charmery team up for an evening block party featuring live music plus oysters from The Local Oyster. The event is BYOB and starts at 5 p.m. Maryland Craft Beer FestivalThe Maryland Craft Beer Festival is coming to Frederick on Saturday, May 10 – and tickets are on sale now and discounted until April 1.
