TOPEKA (KSNT) - The start of the spring season has been all over the place with the weather.It could be impacting your mood with the shift in temperatures and recent time changes.
The Midwest is known to have some "false springs". That's a period when temperatures briefly get warmer and then cool
s back down again. Longer days, outdoor activity and more social interactions can all boost our mental state after months of cold weather.

Thursday, March 20, 27 News spoke with a mental health expert on why the constant changes can disrupt the consistency of our emotions.
"The wild back and forth can be such a challenge." Director of Counseling Services at Washburn University, Crystal Leming said. "Whether it means that our schedules are disrupted or just the way that we were feeling or the way that we were anticipating our day going feels so different from one day to the next."
Leming said the way we talk to ourselves also impacts our mental state and to remind yourself there are brighter days ahead.
