Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin sees 139 calls in five hours stemming from weatherrelated incidents

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - A Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin said that it received over 130 calls on Wednesday stemming from weather incidents after snow and heavy winds combined for ugly driving conditions.

lls and an additional 107 regular calls from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., with multiple disabled vehicles and several crashes.

Many of the incidents included vehicles sliding off into ditches, in need of a tow and a semi-truck jackknifed in the road. One incident included military vehicles stuck with semis.
18 calls from 6:36 a.m. to 7:06 p.m. involved property damage-related crash calls, with one car spinning off and blocking a lane on U.S. Highway 14, a school bus colliding with a Township truck, a vehicle that crashed into a tree and another into a guard rail.
UPDATE: I-43 northbound in Manitowoc County reopened
There were four injury crash calls from 1:23 p.m. to 4:29 p.m., including a vehicle rollover.
