CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Due to an increased fire risk, the North Carolina Forest Service has issued a burn ban for all counties in North Carolina. Anyone who violates the burn ban faces a $100 fine plus $183 court costs. The South Carolina Forestry Commission has also issued a statewide burn ban, effective until further notice. The Commission plans to reevaluate conditions Sunday. Dry air will be in place across the region on Friday with relative humidity as low as 20%.
