Video: 41 arrested in San Francisco drug market takedown

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- San Francisco police officers and sheriff's deputies swarmed an open-air drug market at Van Ness Avenue and Market Street before dawn Thursday and arrested 41 people.
Seventeen were booked into jail on drug-related charges and warrants. Twenty-four were cited for drug offen
ses, including possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and loitering for drug activity.
"This activity will not be tolerated and we will continue these operations for as long as it takes," the San Francisco Police Department wrote. SFPD released video of the crackdown. (The video can be viewed in the video player above.)
Mayor Daniel Lurie wrote on X, "Every day I see families waiting for Muni here, amidst open drug use and dealing. We will be relentless in dismantling drug markets. San Franciscans deserve safe and clean streets."
