Topeka man found guilty of 2022 murder at Traveler's Inn

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A Topeka man has been found guilty in relation to a 2022 homicide at Traveler's Inn.
Shawnee County District Attorney announced Thursday, March 20 that Andrew Christopher Jam Quinton Jr. was found guilty by a jury in connection to the 2022 homicide of Jahlel Brundidge. The jury t
rial started Monday, March 17 and concluded Thursday.
Quinton Jr. was convicted of the following three felonies:
Murder in the First Degree (in the commission of a felony)- Off Grid Felony.
Murder in the Second Degree (reckless)- Level 2 Felony.
Attempted Aggravated Robbery- Level 5 Felony.
According to Kagay, Quinton Jr. previously pled guilty to criminal possession of a firearm- Level 8 felony. Quinton Jr. will be sentenced on May 7.
Just after 3 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2022, law enforcement was sent to the Traveler’s Inn at 3486 SW Topeka Blvd in response to a reported shooting. Officers found Brundidge suffering from a gunshot wound to the forearm and chest, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two armed suspects , later identified as Quinton Jr. and Cassie Holden, were reportedly seen entering the hotel room and leaving shortly after the shots were fired. Quinton Jr. and Holden fled the scene before officers arrived but were later taken into custody the same day as the shooting.
On Sept. 4, 2023, a jury found Holden not guilty of first-degree murder in Brundidge's murder. Holden pled guilty to criminal possession of a firearm.
