RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for several Central Virginia areas Thursday afternoon. At around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas in Central Virginia until 6 p.m.: City of Ri chmond North central Chesterfield County Northwestern King and Queen County Southeastern Goochland County Southeastern Caroline County Northern Henrico County King William County Hanover County East central Powhatan County South central Essex County Residents in the listed areas expected 60 mph wind gusts, as well as potential damage to trees and powerlines.
