Wiggins originally faced just one year of jail time, due to jail credit, but because of previous offenses, his probation was revoked, resulting in an additional year and 117 days.
Wiggins and a friend were celebrating the Fourth of July in a Fort Wayne Community Schools Parking lot when a firework landed near them, according to court documents.
The friend later told detectives in court documents that Wiggins became angry, picked up the firework and threw it into a nearby crowd – some of which were children.
A media release from Fort Wayne police later said the girl suffered significant burns from being in the crowd where the firework exploded. According to police, it required immediate medical attention and “will bear scars from the incident.”
Wiggens faces a total of two years and 117 days in jail. ...read more read less
