Police arrest man accused of fatal shooting near Our Lady of the Lake Hospital

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A suspect was arrested Thursday morning after a woman was killed in a Wednesday afternoon shooting near Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office identified the victim in the shooting as Patricia Jackson, 58. An autopsy wil
l be conducted on Thursday.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said the shooting happened at approximately 3:45 p.m. on March 19 near the 5000 block of Hennessy Boulevard. They confirmed that the shooting victim was an employee.
“Our Lady of the Lake is a beacon of healing for our community and today that sacred space was shattered by a tragic act of violence. We lost a member of our work family, a mother, and a friend to many," Our Lady of the Lake Health President Charles Spicer Jr. said in a statement.
Police take shooting suspect into custody
Roland Domino, 60, was arrested in connection with the shooting. Police said Domino shot Jackson "multiple times" after a verbal argument in the hospital parking lot.
Domino was apprehended around 7:15 p.m.Wednesday on the Mississippi River Bridge and was charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
Police said Domino has a criminal history including forgery, simple burglary, aggravated assault, and simple battery.
