We’re coming off a very active evening of severe storms Wednesday. There have been several reports of damage, including at least two confirmed tornadoes in Indiana. One was confirmed in Vigo County shortly before 7 p.m., and another in Bartholomew County around 8:40 p.m. The National Weather Servi
ce will be out surveying the damage over the next few days.
The storms have now moved out of the area, and we’re transitioning to a much colder day, even some snowflakes are possible. Temperatures have already dropped into the 40s, and they’ll fall a bit more this morning. We only rebound a few degrees into the afternoon. Wind chills will be a factor today making it feel like it's in the upper 20s to lower 30s through the afternoon. Be sure to grab your coat for the first day of spring. The season officially began at 5:01 a.m.
Skies will clear tonight, and temperatures will dip into the upper 20s by early Friday. We’ll see brighter skies and calmer conditions to end the week, with Friday’s high reaching the mid 50s.
Another round of cooler air moves in for the weekend. Expect periods of rain, with Sunday being the wetter day of the two. A cooler pattern will stick around through the extended forecast, with high temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s throughout the weekend and into next week.
