COLLEGE PARK, Md. (DC News Now) -- The University of Maryland Police Department said a recording device was found inside a dormitory bathroom on campus. Last week, a student told campus police she found a portable recording device in a bathroom inside Johnson-Whittle Hall on the university's camp us. A few days later on March 14, officers got an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Noah White who then turned himself in to police four days later. City of Greenbelt to host free produce distribution for residents One student who did not want to be named said the incident was scary. “To find out that a student put in a recording device in the stall of a bathroom - that’s really creepy and obviously not safe," the student said. "Dorms are supposed to be safe spaces, especially the bathrooms and this is where you live." Student Belal Mobaidin said he and his friends were horrified about the incident. “This is honestly sickening, and I don’t know why he would do that and it’s disgusting," Mobaidin said. This is supposed to be a safe environment, and we are supposed to have safety and we are here for studying, not here for these dirty things.” White will face charges that include using visual surveillance equipment in a private place. ...read more read less
