UC San Diego women's basketball ousted from NCAA Tournament after loss to Southern

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The University of California San Diego women's basketball team lost to Southern University and A&M College Wednesday in the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament, 68-56.
The Tritons were led by guard Sumayah Sugapong with 19 points, while Jaguars guard Soniyah Reed
netted 24 points.
With this loss, UC San Diego will be eliminated from the NCAA Tournament.
The First Four round is a play-in game featuring eight teams competing for four spots in the first round of March Madness.
The Tritons paved their journey to the NCAA Tournament after the team beat out UC Davis, propelling them to win the Big West Tournament.
