TEGA CAY, S.C. — Shayne Boyle has used his unique skill to gain more than eight million followers across Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube. Boyle has the ability to catch food using only his mouth from far out distances. He specializes in catching marshmallows and said his longest unofficial ca
tch was recorded at 100 yards.
Boyle has built his following under the social media handle @insaneshayne1 by creating short form videos of trick shot catches. Some of Boyle’s trick shots involved catching a football will diving off a jet-ski and catching a ball thrown over a home. His marshmallow mouth catches have also gained him much attention.
Boyle produces social media content with his high school friend Jake Ajemian, with a third friend also participating.The three friends have used their talents for executing trick shots to build a career which has taken them to Canada, Italy, and various parts of the United States. In 2024, Boyle performed his marshmallow catching on America’s Got Talent during the shows 19th season.
In February of 2025, the trio set two different Guiness World Records in Cincinnati. Ajemian helped to launch a marshmallow 80-yards with a slingshot which Boyle then caught in his mouth.
“It was like 20-degrees so the marshmallow is frozen solid and when it hit me in the mouth there was blood all over the marshmallow,” Boyle said. “It wasn’t like the best conditions” Despite unfavorable weather, Boyle and his crew managed successfully set a new record for the farthest marshmallow propelled and caught in the mouth.
Boyle also set a Guiness World Record for the most marshmallows kicked and then caught in the mouth in one minute by a team of two. Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson kicked the marshmallows while Boyle caught them with his mouth. The two beat the previous record of 15 with 17 total catches.
Boyle and his team now travel the country to host live events and tell their story of success to various youth groups. The group said their main ambition is to inspire others to create content they are passionate about.
“You don’t just have to be professional at this one thing. There’s avenues for everyone and there are different ways for you to make it and make it your own,” Ajemian said.
