Fairfax County police: Armed man near CIA headquarters surrenders after barricade incident

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Police said they were on the scene of a barricade incident at CIA headquarters in McLean after an armed man was seen near it on Wednesday.
The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said Dolley Madison Boulevard was shut down in both directions between George
town Park and Savile Lane due to the situation.

FCPD said its Special Operations Division was on the scene in the morning and remained there into the afternoon.
In a statement sent to DC News Now, a CIA spokesperson wrote: “There is an ongoing incident that law enforcement is currently responding to outside CIA Headquarters. Additional details will be made available as appropriate.”
DC News Now crews at the scene noted at least two dozen marked and unmarked police vehicles, helping to build a wide perimeter of at least a block long in both directions.
In an update, FCPD said just before 3:30 p.m. that the suspect surrendered to its negotiators and is in custody. The roads have also been reopened. ...read more read less
