Thursday, March 20 is when the vernal equinox occurs, marking the official start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Why do the Carlsbad Flower Fields grow ranunculus, and what are they? For people itching to get outside and take advantage of the longer days, here are a few ways to kick off the first few weeks of spring in San Diego County.
