BOSTON (WWLP) - A Cambridge woman has been sentenced to prison in connection with operating an interstate network of high-end brothels in Massachusetts and Virginia.
Han Lee, 42, was arrested and charged in November 2023 alongside two co-defendants. Charging documents stated that Lee was the mana
ger of multiple brothels in Cambridge and Watertown, Mass., and Fairfax and Tysons, Virginia.

From at least July 2020, Lee and her co-defendants reportedly rented high-end apartments and furnished and maintained them to use as brothel locations. They enticed primarily Asian women on the basis of an alleged screening process of the men within their customer base, ensuring that the sex workers were safe and not at risk of arrest.
Lee used online sites bostontopten10.com and browneyesgirlsva.blog to advertise the prostitution network, reportedly advertising nude models for photography at upscale studios as a front. The websites required sex buyers to fill out extensive forms with their personal information in order to be eligible to book an appointment.
The charging documents further stated that Lee and her co-defendants charged the buyers premium prices for appointments, ranging from $350 to $600 per hour in cash depending on the services.
In total, the brothel network managed by Lee generated over $5.6 million from approximately 9,450 scheduled appointments.
To conceal these proceeds, Lee reportedly deposited hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash into personal and third-party bank accounts and peer-to-peer transfers. She and the co-defendants also used the proceeds to purchase money orders, which would then be used to pay for rent and utilities at the brothel.
In September 2024, Lee pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to persuade, induce, entice, and coerce one or more individuals to travel in interstate or foreign commerce to engage in prostitution and one count of money laundering conspiracy.
Lee was sentenced on Wednesday to four years in prison followed by one year of supervised release. She was also ordered to pay forfeiture in the amount of $5,418,572, and restitution in an amount to be determined at a later date.
