What to expect during Tejon Street's revitalization project

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Beginning Monday, March 24, the Tejon Street revitalization project will begin and northbound Tejon will be closed.
Starting Monday, north Tejon Street will be closed through late June. Temporary pedestrian walkways will be established to maintain safe access to local busin
esses in the project zone. According to the City of Colorado Springs, businesses in the area plan to remain open throughout the project's duration.
Construction on Block 1 of the project is expected to continue through late June, work will then move to Block 2.
Motorists and pedestrians can expect:
Closure to vehicles of northbound Tejon Street on Colorado Avenue to Pikes Peak Avenue (Block 1)
Preservation of southbound Tejon Street for vehicle travel
Closure of street parking in Block 1
Block 2, Pikes Peak Avenue to Kiowa Street, should retain on-street parking and north-south traffic until further notice
Closures of lefthand and righthand turn from Colorado onto northbound Tejon
Mountain Metro's SEB route will continue with a northbound detour
The northbound stop on Tejon at Colorado will also be removed during construction work on Block 1.
Parking on the first block of construction will not be permitted due to safety reasons. However, city parking garages offer parking for $1 an hour, and it is free on Sundays. Impacted business will also offer limited vouchers to customers, worth two free hours of City garage parking.
