Theft outside Mariposa Museum ends in rollover crash

MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man was arrested in Madera County after he crashed and rolled over a truck stolen from outside the Mariposa Museum, the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday.

ct, identified as Timothy Qualls, took off at a high rate of speed and led deputies on a 20-mile chase into Madera County as he passed cars across double yellow lines.
According to the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office, the pursuit ended at the top of the "S" turns on southbound Highway 49 when deputies say Qualls lost control, causing the truck to slide off the road and roll over multiple times.
Units reported Qualls was arrested on scene and sustained just minor injuries.
"I’m incredibly proud of my deputies for handling this dangerous situation quickly and professionally," said Sheriff Jeremy Briese. "Reckless crimes like this put innocent lives at risk, and we will not tolerate it in our community."
