MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A new prosecutor is now handling the case involving pastor Ricky Floyd's shooting death. West Tennessee Pro Tem Prosecutor Meghan Fowler will represent the state in the prosecution of Samantha Marion, who is charged with voluntary manslaughter in the case. Marion appeared in court for the first time since the District Attorney's Office recused themselves from the case due to a potential conflict of interest. Woman charged in pastor’s death makes bond; DA’s office recuses District Attorney Steve Mulroy said on Tuesday that he worked with Pastor Ricky Floyd on a commission that was aiding the district attorney’s office, causing the office to recuse themselves. “In order to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest of office will be recusing ourselves from representation in regard to this and hopefully there will be a prosecutor pro-tem in the hearing tomorrow,” prosecutor Missy Branham said.
