LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The University of Kentucky (UK) is severing ties with a nonprofit organization as a federal investigation into diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs unfolds. In a letter released earlier today, UK President Eli Capiluto announced the university would end its partnership with The PhD Project, a nonprofit dedicated to helping students from underrepresented groups obtain business degrees with the goal of diversifying the corporate world. Capiluto cited the ongoing federal investigation and the concerns raised as reasons for the decision. He stated that the university continues to assess administrative actions and respond to related litigation.
