LAWRENCE, Wis. (WFRV) - After an active fire on Wednesday morning in Lawrence, authorities have provided an update on the incident, saying two people were rescued and taken to a local hospital. De Pere Fire Rescue assisted the Town of Lawrence Fire Department after a fire in the 2200 block of Mid Valley Drive spread to a home. The first crews to arrive around 5 a.m. on March 19 found smoke and flames coming from the home. During the immediate response, firefighters found two people still inside the home. Lightning strike causes fire and external damage to apartment building in Wisconsin, person rescued from elevator Both people were rescued and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their conditions are reportedly currently unknown. The fire was subsequently put out and the exact cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
