Measles exposure reported at Texas Tech University

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech informed its faculty, staff and students on Tuesday of a potential exposure to measles that occurred on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock.
The affected areas are the Carpenter/Wells complex and the Student Health Services clinic between March 4 through 12.
If you were at these locations during this time, you may have been exposed to measles. Texas Tech said individuals identified as having a possible exposure will be contacted directly.

Measles is a highly contagious disease that spreads through coughing and sneezing. Symptoms typically appear 7–14 days after exposure and may include:
High fever
Cough
Runny nose
Red, watery eyes
A rash that starts on the face and spreads downward
Protect Yourself:The City of Lubbock Health Department advises the best protection against measles is the MMR vaccine.
