PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A popular kosher deli in the capital city will close its doors for good at the end of the month, 12 News has learned.
Bubbie's Market and Deli announced in a letter shared on social media that its last day open will be March 31.
In the letter, owners Jeffrey Ingber
and Freda Ronkin explained that the closure will allow them to focus their efforts primarily on Ahava Catering — a full-service catering business.
Ahava Catering will be solely owned by Ronkin once the deli closes, according to the letter.
"We truly appreciate our customers for their trust and support over the past five years," the owners wrote in the letter.
Non-perishable grocery items will be 30% of starting Wednesday. Perishable items, both refrigerated and frozen, are still priced as marked for the time being.
Ahava Catering will still offer a number of grocery items throughout the year online.
"While we are saddened by the closure of Bubbie's, we are grateful for the memories, relationships and experiences we have gained throughout the years," the letter continued. "We will cherish these as we moved forward. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey."
