A woman faces several charges over a fight on a school bus. The Marion County prosecutor says Latea Hentz boarded the Warren Township bus earlier this month to confront a student whom she claimed had been bullying her son. Investigators say Hentz’s son and daughter joined her in attacking the student, breaking his nose. The prosecutor says he’ll file charges against others soon.
On the eve of new severe storm chances, a southwestern Indiana family is scrambling to handle the damage from a weekend tornado. Miley Farm is in Gibson County. The National Weather service says an EF-2 twister ripped through the farm Saturday. Ron Miley says his family has lost just about everything, but he also says about 100 people immediately showed up to help , including people he had never met.
The White House says President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to an immediate pause in strikes against energy infrastructure in the Ukraine war – in a first step toward a full and lasting end to the fighting. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says his country is pen to any proposals that lead to peace, but stressed the need for full transparency in discussions.
History buffs are combing through a new trove of information about one of America’s darkest moments. The National Archives and Records Administration has released more than 6 million pages of records, pictures, film, and artifacts from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
IU has hired Darian DeVries to be the Hoosiers’ next head basketball coach. He’ll replace Mike Woodson. DeVries coached one season for West Virginia and five seasons prior to that at Drake.
A Purdue Boilermaker heads into the NCAA tournament with a high honor. Guard Braden Smith is a first-team Associated Press All-American. He won Big Ten Player of the Year last week. Trey Kaufman-Renn is an honorable mention for All-American.
