One charge dismissed, but trials await for Darrell Whitelightning

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A man who's facing years in prison in North Dakota is now facing fewer charges in court.
This week, prosecutors dismissed another felony count for Darrell Wade White Lightning, after an incident that happened in August of last year. White Lightning is set to go to trial in three weeks that he assaulted a woman and violated a protection order.
Prosecutors say White Lightning was also involved in a stolen vehicle and then broke into a home in Bismarck to hide from police.
That incident happened in July.
White Lightning will next be in court on March 28th. He's charged with aggravated assault. That trial will begin on April 8th.
Meanwhile, White Lightning will be in court again for five felony counts on May 23rd.That trial is scheduled for June 4th.
White Lightning has pleaded not guilty and is being represented by a public defender.
