Education Connection Concert hosted at Springfield Symphony Hall

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 22News' own Storm Team Meteorologist Brian Lapis helped the Springfield Symphony Orchestra continue a tradition of one historic concert.The Springfield Symphony Orchestra has produced live music for 81 years now. ght back. This year's concert was was called 'The Orchestra Moves.'
Smith College basketball team heads to Division III Final Four tournament
Nearly 2,000 Springfield fourth graders filled the Springfield Symphony Hall on Tuesday to watch the concert. The program featured ten selections with strings, percussion, brass and woodwinds. There was even call and response activities for the students.
Paul Lambert, the president and CEO of the orchestra, told 22News how they constantly promote shows for all audiences in Springfield
"We've been very careful in our choices, we hope as we continue to grow our programming and different offerings that we do throughout the year to make sure that we're attracting audiences and making products available that really represent the diversity of the wonderful area that we live in," Lambert said.Lambert also said that major cities like Springfield do not often have symphony orchestras. The orchestra's next performance will be titled 'Something New' and will take place on April 19.
