Watch the unique way a drone rescued mama deer and her babies

GREEN LAKE COUNTY, Wisconsin (KFOR) - A detective in Green Lake County, Wisconsin did something no one in his department has ever done before - he used a drone to creatively rescue a doe and her two fawns that had fallen through an icy pond.
Det. Josh Ward said boats can scare the deer away, and
can be counterproductive by driving them farther away from shore, leading to potential exhaustion and drowning.

Instead, on March 13 Det. Ward used a drone to herd the deer family back to dry land, as seen from two different vantage points at the top of this story.
"We’ve done a lot of human rescues, looking for people, lost people, search and rescue stuff, accident scene crashes. Never done one doing a herd deer drive with a drone," he told local media.
Because of windy conditions, the drone was more difficult to fly, but Ward still managed to lead the three deer to safety within an hour. ...read more read less
