GREEN LAKE COUNTY, Wisconsin (KFOR) - A detective in Green Lake County, Wisconsin did something no one in his department has ever done before - he used a drone to creatively rescue a doe and her two fawns that had fallen through an icy pond. Det. Josh Ward said boats can scare the deer away, and can be counterproductive by driving them farther away from shore, leading to potential exhaustion and drowning. Ward used a drone to herd the deer family back to dry land, as seen from two different vantage points at the top of this story. "We’ve done a lot of human rescues, looking for people, lost people, search and rescue stuff, accident scene crashes. Never done one doing a herd deer drive with a drone," he told local media.
