Woman charged in pastor's death makes bond; DA's office recuses

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Samantha Marion, the woman accused of shooting and killing Memphis pastor Ricky Floyd, paid her $100,000 bond and was released from jail Tuesday afternoon.
Marion was in court Tuesday after being denied for a bond reduction last week. However, courts could not proceed due to a
conflict of interest.

District Attorney Steve Mulroy had worked with Pastor Ricky Floyd on a commission that was aiding the district attorney's office, causing the office to recuse themselves.
“In order to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest of office will be recusing ourselves from representation in regard to this and hopefully there will be a prosecutor pro-tem in the hearing tomorrow,” prosecutor Missy Branham said.
The case will now go up to the commission of district attorneys and they will appoint someone in the state.
Attorney says suspect never met pastor prior to his shooting death
Marion’s attorneys, Kevin Massey and John Keith Perry, still claim the suspect and the victim did not know each other, despite rumors on social media. They said they are ready to prove that in court.
