t Storm Warning until 7:15 PM, which may be extended. The strongest gusts have been 59 mph at El Paso's airport, 61 mph in Las Cruces, and a 78 mph in Ruidoso. Thankfully, Wednesday will be much better. Here's your exclusive 9-Hour Forecast:
TONIGHT: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to powerful winds and dangerous levels of blowing dust through Tuesday night. A High Wind Warning is posted until 9 PM. A Dust Storm Warning is posted until 5 PM but may be extended. West winds will gust near 60 mph causing blowing dust well into the night. Slowly, the winds will turn NW as cooler air flows into the Borderland. Winds will begin to taper off slowly past midnight. The low will be 40.
FORECAST: Wednesday will be sunny with much lighter winds and no dust. The NW winds will range from 5-25 mph, and the high will be a cooler 64. Thursday will be sunny and warmer with a high of 76. The south breeze will range from 5-15 mph. Friday will be sunny and breezy with a high of 80. Saturday will be moderately windy with a slight haze and a high of 83. The SW-west winds will pick up and gust near 40 mph with the strongest gusts on the east slopes. Sunday will be partly cloudy with lighter winds and a high of 80. Monday will be sunny and very warm with a high of 84. Tuesday will be partly cloudy with a high of 86. Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with isolated area showers and even a few isolated t-storms. Wednesday's high: 85.
