MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a Tuesday afternoon officer-involved shooting in Mount Pleasant. The Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a call around 5:15 p.m. for a report of indecent exposure at 651 Johnnie Dodds Boulevard. The responding officer fou nd an individual matching the suspect’s description in the East Cooper Plaza shopping center. An officer-involved shooting occurred, and both the officer and suspect were injured in the incident. According to information from Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie, the police officer received stabbing wounds, and the suspect was shot.
