This musical follows the journey of chart-topping R&B group The Temptations, who went from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The full cast was announced by Popejoy Hall on Tuesday morning:
Jameson Clanton as ‘Melvin Franklin’
Rudy Foster as ‘Otis Williams’
Lowes Moore as ‘Eddie Kendricks’
Josiah Travis Kent Rogers as ‘David Ruffin’
Bryce Valle as ‘Paul Williams’
Popejoy Hall says the musical is "electrifying."
"With their signature dance moves and unmistakable harmonies, they rose to the top of the charts creating an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching number one," Popejoy Presents wrote in a news release. "The rest is history – how they met, the groundbreaking heights they hit, and how personal and political conflicts threatened to tear the group apart as the United States fell into civil unrest."
The musical initially opened on Broadway in March of 2019. Since that time, it's been nominated for 12 Tony Awards. Tickets for "Ain't Too Proud" are currently on sale. More information is on Popejoy Hall's website. ...read more read less
