Hazel Long, a second grader at Pocahontas Elementary School, won the Future Chefs Culinary Challenge.
Two students from each elementary school — Powhatan Elementary School, Flat Rock Elementary School and Pocahontas Elementary School — were selected, so six students in total competed. They first had to submit a recipe of their choosing.
