Health committee to vote on legislation requiring child COVID19 vaccinations

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island House Health and Human Services Committee will meet Tuesday afternoon to vote on new legislation.
They are considering three bills, one of which comes at the request of the state department of health.
It would require vaccinating children between the a
ges of nine and 18 against COVID-19.
Another bill would extend the pilot program for safe injection sites for intravenous drug users another two years.
The final bill would ease the process for pharmacy workers and technicians to give medications to a patient.
The committee meets at 4:30 p.m.
A coalition of organizations will also hold a press conference in support of “healthy school meals for all.”
It is in support of two bills which propose a phased implementation of free school breakfast and lunch for students at all income levels who attend public school.
Advocates and state reps will meet at 3 p.m.
