EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — March is International Women’s Month and once again, WPRI 12 is honoring those who inspire, lead, and forge the way for other women.
For the sixth year, people nationwide submitted the Remarkable Women in their lives, and out of the dozens of local nominees, f
our finalists were chosen.
Our third finalist is Roberta Merkle, the Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Saint Elizabeth Community, a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of services and care for older adults.
She is also the cofounder of a women’s shelter in Massachusetts and the Rhode Island chapter of the national Alzheimer’s Association
Merkle loves her work and is dedicated to both caring and advocating for those who may not be able to care for themselves.
