Seven SRF loans awarded to water, sanitary sewer, landfill projects

NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — Seven loans for water, sanitary sewer, and landfill projects were awarded through the State Revolving Fund (SRF) programs.
These SRF programs are administered by the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality and the North Dakota Public Finance Authority.

Lake is receiving $452,000 from the CWSRF to rehabilitate manholes and install three blocks of new sanitary sewer main.
New Town is getting $5.11 million from the CWSRF and another $4.01 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) to fix or replace the community's water, sanitary sewer mains, and stormwater infrastructure.
Beach was awarded $2.82 million from the DWSRF for water main, sewer main, and street improvements, including the replacement of aged cats iron water mains with new PVC pipe.
Galesburg is receiving $3 million from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) to replace faulty components of the lagoon to bring it up to current standards, update the lift station, and replace portions of the sanitary sewer collection system.
Grafton is getting $750,000 from the CWSRF to replace the control panel and two pumps at the lift station and to make improvements to the aeration cell of the lagoon.
Jamestown was awarded $2.79 million from the CWSRF to close an existing landfill cell and open a new one to protect the area from leachate.
NDGF: Reminder to get new 2025-2026 licenses
The EPA provides part of the funding, offering below-market interest rate loans to political subdivisions for financing projects authorized under the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act.
These loans were awarded based on project priority and eligibility that are determined by the Department of Environmental Quality and the Public Finance Authority's review of repayment ability.
