ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 35-year-old man was sentenced to spend 40 years to life in prison on Monday, after being convicted of second-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Shaquan Parker in Rochester nearly three years ago.
Marlon Williams was found guilty of the crime in 2024.
In court Monday, Williams maintained his innocence and repeatedly told the judge "Only God can judge me."

"I haven't gotten a fair grand jury. You have a duty - you have a duty to be impartial and unbiased, and here it is, you're being biased," Williams said when addressing the judge during his sentencing on Monday.
Judge Thomas Moran: "I've watched you -"
Marlon Williams: "You know me right?"
Judge Thomas Moran: "If you would allow me the same courtesy I gave you..."
Marlon Williams: "Thomas Moran. Everybody - everybody knew who - "
Judge Thomas Moran: [Points to the door] "Transport."
Marlon Williams: "Everyone who served...[unintelligible, talking over Judge Moran]"
Prosecutors said Williams was a repeat offender, and "should have never possessed a firearm."
"They [the family of Shaquan Parker] have been frustrated by having to come to court repeatedly, and repeatedly, and repeatedly and just listen to Marlon Williams speak, and most of the time it was not about anything related to the case. It was not relevant in any way to the charges against him. Judge Moran did a great job of letting him, y'know. have his defense and have his chance in court, but he abused that a little bit," said Assistant District Attorney Patrick Gallagher.
