IDENTIFIED: Woman killed after being struck in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The Fresno County Coroner's Office has identified the pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Fresno early Saturday morning.
Officials identified the pedestrian as 74-year-old Maria Pared
es of Fresno.
CHP says the crash took place around 5:30 a.m. on Clinton Avenue, east of Bond Street.
Officials say Paredes was using a walker and was in the westbound lanes when she was struck by a Toyota Avalon.
CHP says the driver stopped immediately, called 911, and cooperated fully with authorities. Investigators say drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
CHP officials noted that the area where the crash happened "is extremely dark due to a lack of streetlights, as it is in a county pocket."
