FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A teenager was arrested after a man was shot at an apartment complex in Orange Cove Sunday afternoon, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office announced. Deputies say around 1:10 p.m., Orange Cove police responded to the Orchard Village Apartments on South Avenue for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police were directed to a gunshot victim inside an apartment unit. The 34-year-old man was found concious, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and was immediately rendered first aid. The victim was eventually transported to a local hospital, where deputies say he was pronounced deceased. Deputies say they responded to assist and eventually learned the area where the suspect fled after the shooting. Eagle One eventually located the suspect off the property a short distance away, and the 16-year-old was arrested. Investigators report the shooting took place outside in the apartment complex around various bystanders, but luckily, no one else was struck by gunfire. After being shot, the victim was able to make his way into an apartment unit, where police found him. The suspect and victim reportedly knew each other, but their relationship has not been confirmed.
