LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – The Las Cruces Police officer who shot a man in the back of the head at point blank range for stealing a beer at a gas station is asking for a new trial. In February, the court convicted Brad Lunsford of voluntary manslaughter, but now, he's requesting a new trial, sayin

The video shows Lunsford shooting Presley Eze in the back of the head in 2022 after an altercation broke out, even though Eze resisted arrest and grabbed for an officer's tazer. The state argued Lunsford could've de-escalated the situation.
