WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A person is dead after a house fire broke out early Sunday morning in east Wichita. According to the Wichita Fire Department, crews were dispatched to a house fire near Harry Street and Woodlawn Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. "While en route, they could actually see the glow of the fire from a good distance away," Battalion Chief Chad Dunjam said. Fire officials say that when they arrived, the flames were so intense the roof was beginning to come down. When they finally got inside, they found a person who had died.
