Exit 9 ramp in Chicopee and Springfield to close nightly for bridge work

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that the I-91 southbound Exit 9 ramp will begin closing nightly beginning Monday.

sures due to bridge shielding installation work. MassDOT said that the closure will occur nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
The ramp will begin closing on Monday, March 17 until the morning of Friday, March 21.
MassDOT stated that traffic will be rerouted to Exit 8 southbound to Birnie Avenue, then onto Noble Street in order for divers to access the I-91 northbound on-ramp to I-391 northbound.
Signage and messaging will be put in place to assist drivers traveling through the work zone. Drivers should expect delays, use caution, and reduce speed when navigating the area.
