"They've been playing really good hockey," said Thunderbirds President Nate Costa. "We've been on a really nice stretch, team coming together again healthy, and it really feels a little bit like it did a couple of years ago when we went on a run. So we've got about 15 games left of our regular season, I think there's eight home games left, so a lot of hockey. A lot more that can happen, but it's exciting times for us."
Despite making it to halftime on a 2-2 tie, the second half of Saturday's game gave the Crunch the upper hand and the Thunderbirds lost to Syracuse again with a final score of 8-3.
The T-Birds will host another home game at the MassMutual center on Sunday, facing the Providence Bruins. The puck drops at 3:05 p.m.
This game is also the fifth annual sensory-friendly game, featuring quieter music and sensory cooldown spaces for individuals with sensory needs to enjoy the game.
22News will feature full coverage of this event Sunday afternoon.
