Juvenile arrested in Fall River homicide, victim ID'd

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) -- A 17-year-old boy has been arrested following a homicide in Fall River on Saturday, where police said 20-year-old Jaleale Simmons was shot and killed.
Around 12:30 p.m., Fall River Police and EMS were called to the third floor of 983 Rodman Street for a person who had
been shot in the chest inside the home.
When they arrived on scene, they found Simmons, who lives on the third floor, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was taken to St. Anne's Hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The suspect, who is a relative of Simmons, also lived on the third floor of the building.
The unidentified juvenile is being charged with murder and is expected to be arraigned in Fall River District Court on Monday.
The homicide is being investigated by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, Fall River Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors.
This is the city's first homicide of 2025.
