ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) - A Rochester Police Department officer was hospitalized after being hit while inside a patrol car by a driver who ran a red light in the city Saturday evening, according to police. The officer was hit while driving down Mt. Read Boulevard in a marked patrol car around 10:3 0 p.m. Saturday. The driver of a Honda Civic passed through the red light while driving down Driving Park Avenue, colliding with the officer on Mt. Read, RPD announced.
