MARSHALL CO., Miss. -- The severe weather and heavy rainfall took a toll on Marshall County this weekend.
There have been reports of water rescues and flooded roads in the area throughout Saturday.
In Holly Springs, overnight storms ripped the roof off of a local business, Beard Brothers' Gara
ge. It's just the latest building to fall victim to the powerful storm.
The heavy rainfall also caused flooded roads.
The roads have gotten so bad that the Marshall County Sheriff's Office has blocked and closed several stretches of the road because of the flooding, specifically the 600 through the 1266 block of Whitten Road.

Rodney Crane, the Chief of the Holly Springs Fire Department, told WREG that emergency crews conducted multiple water rescues.
"[The] lady left the roadway in a vehicle with a horse trailer and they was able to successfully get her rescued," Crane said. "About a few minutes after that, we had one that was off of Lyles Road here off 311, that they had. One was supposed to be submerged in water."
Fortunately, the drivers involved were safely rescued. At this time, there haven't been any reports of storm-related injuries.

In addition to flooded roads, there were also outages that left homes and businesses without power for hours, including the Holly Springs Walmart.
An employee said frozen and refrigerated foods were not being sold at the store. Tape was blocking off certain aisles and plastic wrap was covering other products.
Chief Crane said there were also downed power lines in the area. Some even resulted in fires.
"We had some that was in trees, that caught trees on fire," Crane said. "The crews were able to get that extinguished with no further issues to homes or anything." ...read more read less
