ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) —Temperatures will remain on the warmer side this evening, barely dropping out of the 60s. I hoped you enjoyed the warmth over the past few days because it will come to an end tomorrow.
Expect breezy conditions to continue through tonight, with morning showers and afterno
on thunderstorms on the way tomorrow. Around midday tomorrow, a squall line will move in, bringing a brief but heavy downpour. While lightning will occur intermittently, the storm itself is expected to be relatively mild for a thunderstorm. The bigger concern will be the wind. Gusts in the lower elevations will be similar to today's, reaching up to 35 MPH, but in the hilltops and Finger Lakes region, winds could gust as high as 50 MPH. This could lead to some downed branches and isolated power outages.
Temperatures will cool off heading into the work week, but conditions are expected to remain dry. We look to battle clouds throughout most of the day before they start to clear out during the evening hours. Temperatures are only expected to climb into the mid 40s for highs. But for those of you who enjoy the warmth, you'll be in luck following Monday.
8-Day Forecast
We will stay dry heading into Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will reach the upper 50s for Tuesday and continue climbing into the mid to upper 60s for Wednesday. Partly cloudy skies are expected for both days.
A cold front is expected to sweep through the area on Thursday, bringing cooler air and rain showers along with it. We'll dry out for the end of the week, but remain on the colder side. Temperatures look to climb back up for next weekend. ...read more read less
