Second Elizabeth City man arrested in connection with shooting of juvenile

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) -- A second Elizabeth City man was arrested Friday in connection with a shooting that injured a juvenile male in November.

On Nov. 9, 2024, the Elizabeth City Police Department resp
onded to 108 Queen Street for a report of shots fired at approximately 4:09 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the residence struck by gunfire and located multiple shell casings in the vicinity of it. They seized two 9mm handguns and one .38 special revolver.
During the investigation, officers discovered that a juvenile male had been struck in the leg by gunfire.
The injured juvenile was taken to Sentara Hospital in Elizabeth City and was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

J'Quan Brown, 20, was charged for assault with a deadly weapon and intent to kill. He was processed and taken before the magistrate where he was given No Bond and transported to Albemarle District Jail.
His first court appearance will be Tuesday in Pasquotank County District Court at approximately 9:30 a.m.
This remains an ongoing investigation.
