Lexington woman accused of shooting man, 'ramming' his car during domestic dispute, police say

LEXINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman is facing charges after allegedly shooting a man in the head during a domestic dispute, according to the Lexington Police Department.
A press release states that on Saturday morning at 5:30, LPD officers responded to multiple 911 calls describing two vehicles "r
amming" each other in a neighborhood off South Main Street including Snider Avenue, Peacock Avenue, Austin Street and Stamey Avenue. The callers also reported hearing gunfire.
At the scene, officers located a gunshot victim near a car that crashed into a house in the 100 block of Peacock Avenue. They also located a wreck scene in the roadway near the 100 block of Snider Avenue. No one in either home was injured. The house struck by the car is the only property damage the LPD is currently aware of.
An initial investigation revealed that Tinisha Nelson Coleman, 45, and a 61-year-old Lexington man were in a domestic relationship together and were in a domestic dispute situation when Coleman, driving a white 2013 Volkswagen Passat and the man, driving a silver 2002 Saturn, rammed into each other multiple times.

While both cars were parked in roadway in the 100 block of Peacock Avenue, Coleman allegedly shot the man once in the head, causing him to back up at a high speed and crash into the Peacock Avenue home.
Coleman was later taken into custody and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury and with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
She has been held in the Davidson County Jail with no bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 14.
The victim is being treated at a local hospital. No updates on his condition are available at this time.
