NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Strong to severe storms are moving across the area with tornado damage already reported near Kentwood. We are currently under a rare PDS tornado watch until 6 PM. That means a particularly dangerous situation. Expect locally heavy storms with damaging wind gusts and isolated t
ornadoes, with the potential for a few strong tornadoes.
It still looks like the strongest activity will likely develop in the Florida Parishes and southern Mississippi, especially north of I-12.
Farther south, locally heavy rain and storms will move through this afternoon but likely not as intense as those farther north. Continue to keep an eye on the weather through the day and have a way to get warnings. If a warning is issued for your area then take shelter quickly.
