Blog: From morning fog Saturday to late night storms Sunday
Mar 15, 2025
The stubborn clouds and gloomy conditions are hanging on through our Saturday morning… but we’re still hopeful that afternoon sunshine will bring in some warmth for the weekend.
Expect fog, mist and drizzle through mid morning, as clouds stick around through late morning. Temperatures wil
l be pinned in the 50s through the late morning, but once we get the sunshine by early afternoon highs will accelerate into the 60s and close to 70°.
The southerly breeze starts to develop tonight, keeping temperatures up in the 50s and 60s by Sunday morning. It’s a windier and warmer day tomorrow despite the increasing clouds – highs should reach the 70s with south-southwest winds gusting over 30mph at times.
A dynamic storm system marching across the U.S. will be a big severe weather maker throughout the weekend, we'll monitor it closely because it provides a chance of thunderstorms here at home on Sunday evening.
Most of the daylight hours Sunday will be dry (and as stated above, warm & windy), by later in the evening the trailing cold front with the approaching system moves into the region. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected around sunset and into the late night. Some strong to severe thunderstorms are possible, so be sure to stay weather aware tomorrow evening.
Overnight, scattered showers and thunderstorms become a bit more widespread and we could set up some soaking heavy rain. This will lingering into early Monday morning, when 1” to 2”+ of rain could fall – I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s ponding and minor street flooding on the roads for the Monday morning commute.
Rain should move out by late morning Monday and we’ll see sunshine return for Tuesday. Next dose of rain could be around mid to late week.
Have a great weekend!
